”Are We Ever Gonna Be Better Than This?”
This is the question America is still answering.
They say life is a journey and over the years, I have found that saying to be even more true than it was when I first heard it. I recently watched a movie titled “We are Your Friends” featuring a young Zac Efron. It is a wonderful story about a young creative artists journey. He had been rejected many times, but then met a well-known mentor whose connections helped give him a chance. During the process of finding himself, they partied a lot to escape the grind of becoming, they had friends betray him, a friend of his died, and he had other hardships. However, in the end, when he got his chance to perform his “creative work” — it was 1000% authentically him. Every aspect of his life - the good, the bad, the tragic — was woven into his one song, played in front of a large crowd of tens of thousands of people, who just soaked it up as the music built up. That authenticity is what really hit me. I highly recommend fans of Zac Efron check it out! If you don’t like his work, you might if you are a creative person. It is truly inspiring. The two links below are of the movie and the scene in which he performs his creative work of art, which I believe all comes from God.
“These days, you can invent an app, start a blog, sell shit online. But if you’re a DJ, you’re gonna need to start with one track. And if it’s real enough, and honest enough, and if it’s made with everything that has made you; where you come from, who you knew, you’re history.”
